But the staff's kindness, the service, and how good I felt were even better. Background: I hadn't been to a hairdresser in over a year, as my overall experience wasn't good, and I admit I'm a bit particular. I have long, curly hair that reaches my waist, and I used to get very nervous when I went to a salon (the worry of water getting in my ears, the pulling while detangling, and feeling my hair break because they were rushing), even the complaints about my hair getting tangled and the embarrassment... and more... made me never want to set foot in a hair salon again. But when I called Alberto to make an appointment, I explained what I needed over the phone, and I felt that this time it was going to be different. From the moment I walked in the door, I felt completely at ease. She gave me a massage at the shampoo station, 🤭 which was so relaxing, and then she didn't pull at all when detangling my hair, 🥹 and the haircut was gorgeous. She listened attentively to how I liked the shape of my curls and the type of cut I wanted. I brought my own flaxseed gel, which I make myself, and she applied it and dried my hair. I finally felt comfortable, being myself, and not feeling awkward or demanding when I said what I needed. I ended up giving her a hug 🤭 I truly felt like I belonged.
